Will Ollie System run on your machine?

If your PC runs other mainstream Linux desktops comfortably, Ollie System will likely feel at home too. Here's the detail.

What Ollie System needs.

Ollie System ships with a mature kernel, standard hardware drivers, and familiar package tooling—so most x86_64 machines that already run everyday desktop Linux are a strong match.

Minimum

  • x86_64 (64-bit Intel or AMD) CPU, 2 cores
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 20 GB free disk space
  • USB port for booting from a flash drive (or DVD drive)
  • Display with 1024×768 or higher
  • Network adapter (for activation and updates)

What models will run locally?

Search for your graphics card for a quick memory estimate, or set system RAM and GPU memory manually. We compare typical on-device model sizes (Q4-style) against your numbers.

Pick a GPU or adjust RAM and GPU memory to see which size tiers are likely to fit.

Inference speed depends on quantization, context length, and your specific CPU/GPU. Estimates assume common quantized formats such as Q4 — what Ollie Intelligence typically loads. Guidelines, not guarantees. Exact memory thresholds can shift with GGUF variant (for example Q4_K_M vs. Q4_0) and context length.
